GRAIN Kabuli Chickpea Flour is milled from our wildly popular Kabuli Chickpeas from the chickpea belt in southwestern Saskatchewan. This flour is ideal for creating flavourful flatbreads, fries, and other wonderful recipes such as socca. Like all of our freshly milled flours, this chickpea flour is a perfect replacement for store-bought chickpea flour, also commonly known as 'gram flour' or 'garbanzo bean flour' in the grocery store— and is more flavourful, more nutritious and freshly milled.
Kabuli Chickpeas are nutritional powerhouses loaded with fibre, protein and nutrients. Kabuli’s are known for their large size, creamy colour and smooth coat. Ours come from Lionel and Melody Ector who run a farm and processing facility in the chickpea belt of southwestern Saskatchewan. When soaked and boiled, these dried pulses cook up tastier and creamier than their cousins from a can.
Our hand-crafted Austrian stone mill slowly and gently crushes grain at a low temperature, a process that produces beautiful, aromatic, nutritious and delicious flour.
The product bears little resemblance to the typical, highly processed shelf stable flour found on grocery store shelves. You’ll notice the difference right away: the colour is natural and the aroma is unmistakable.
We recommend storing our fresh flours in the fridge or freezer to maintain freshness.
